When I am looking for a crunchy healthful snack or an extra salad topping, I love to make Spicy Roasted Almonds. Almonds are one of my favorite nuts to enjoy. This recipe takes roasted almonds and kicks up the flavor.
Nuts are an encouraged treat on the Mediterranean Diet. A small handful of almonds every day may help lower blood cholesterol and help manage blood sugar levels.1 Almonds contain monounsaturated or healthy fats, a good amount of protein and fiber.
Simple Roasted Almonds Ingredients
This recipe uses ingredients that are probably right in your pantry. Roasted almonds, Worcestershire sauce, extra virgin olive oil, and spices.
Extra virgin olive oil adds a unique flavor plus other health benefits when used in recipes. To learn more about the differences between types of olive oils, read my post, 4 Things to Consider When Buying Olive Oil.
You can mix up the savory spices and change the flavor of the recipe for added variety. Consider adding garlic, cardamon, ginger, dry mustard, and more.
Today I used cinnamon, and chipotle, garlic seasoning.
It is easy to make a sweetened version by adding a little honey to the mix.
Finish it off with a couple of turns of sea salt. Enjoy the Spicy Roasted Almonds.
