Light and Crispy Homemade Croutons

Simple recipe for light and crispy croutons, seasoned with olive oil, onion, garlic, salt and pepper.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices whole wheat bread cubed
  • 3 tbsp olive oil extra virgin
  • 1/8 tsp onion powder
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper coursely ground

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Cut bread into 1-inch cubes.
  • Drizzle olive oil over bread cubes. Sprinkle with onion, and garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Lightly toss until oil is absorbed.
  • Place of parchment paper in baking sheet.
  • Spread bread cubes in a single layer on baking sheet.
  • Bake bread cubes for 5 minutes. Turn with a spatula. Bake for 5 additional minutes until bread cubes are light and crispy.
  • Use as a garnish on salads or soups.
