Healthy Turkey Chili Recipe

Healthy Turkey Chili made with lean ground turkey, cannelini beans, finely diced red bell pepper, green chilis, onion, and spices. Mildly spicy recipe with limited heat.

  • Stock Pot


  • 1 lb turkey ground
  • 1/4 cup onion finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup bell pepper red, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup green chilies chopped, mild, small can
  • 1 tsp cumin ground
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp paprika smoked
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper Up to 1/4 tsp
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 3/4 cup cannelini beans 1 can, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese shaved


  • Heat olive oil in a stock pot and heat over medium high heat. Add ground turkey and allow to cook for 5-7 minutes undisturbed. Turn turkey and allow to cook undisturbed. Combine oregano, paprika, cumin, cloves, and cayenne pepper. Sprinkle over ground turkey as it is browning.
  • Add onion, garlic, and red bell pepper to stockpot and saute for 5 minutes on medium low-heat. Use spatula to break up turkey into bite-sized pieces.
  • Add chopped green chilies and broth.
  • Add beans. Lower temperature to low and simmer for 15 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  • Serve with shaved Parmesan cheese.


This recipe makes four, 1 1/2 cup servings.
