Sauteed Mushrooms in Butter and Olive Oil

  • 16 ounces portabella mushrooms baby
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil extra virgin
  • 1/4 cup white wine dry
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt optional
  • parsley garnish

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil and butter over medium heat.
  • Rinse mushrooms well. Trim bottom of the stem, and chop into thick slices.
  • Saute over medium-low heat until mushrooms have softened and browned.
  • Add wine and continue to heat.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Recipe Tips

This recipe is a quick vegetable dish for a busy weeknight. Add sliced onions or bacon grease to increase the flavor.
