Sweet and Tangy Barbeque Sauce

Easy Homemade Barbeque Sauce is sweet and tangy with a hint of heat. Perfect sauce for burgers, pork tenderloin or chicken.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup onion finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil extra virgin
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/8 cup wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp molasses
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp ground mustard
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • Finely chop onion. Heat olive oil in a medium pan over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook for 3-5 minutes.
  • Add ketchup, brown sugar, wine vinegar, molasses, Worcestershire sauce to the onion. Stir to mix.
  • Mix in ground mustard and cayenne pepper.
  • Heat sauce to a boil. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Turn off heat and leave pan on burner until ready to use.

Notes

Serving Size = 2 tablespoons.
